Develop a Work Plan & Stick to It

One of the biggest concerns of working from home is the amount of distraction home offers by its very nature. The kids may need taken to and picked up from school, the phone calls from friends, household chores need done. All very important things, but you should not forget your business is important too.

I found that I needed to develop a plan to work and stick to it to become successful. I determined the amount of time and effort I wanted to put in was 14 hours a week. So I broke that down to 2.5 hours a day during the week and 1.5 on Saturday. I have a full time job on the day shift, so my hours during the weekdays are usually spend about 1 hour in the early hours before work and 1.5 in the evening. This still leaves me plenty of time to devote to my family and household needs.

I also found that in order for my business to grow, I need about half of that weekly 14 hours needed to be spent on the promotion of my business, the other half taking phone calls, submitting orders, and building my team. So I came up with a specific block of time to spend on each of those activities.

Fortunately, much of the promotion of my business is done on the internet and can be done at any hour with the same success. This is also true of submitting the orders. So I can spend the evening block of time building my team when most of the work is active.

I noticed that when I put this plan in place my business grew faster and I became more productive. I can recommend that you do the same so that your business will do better too.

Advice on Setting Social Network Profiles

There is little doubt that social networking is becoming increasingly popular. There are many people from all over the world that are promoting their business by participating in this phenomenon. Some networking sites offer to pay you for viewing other members’ sites. There are many sites to choose from and to find the one that best suits you means that you need to research them all, and set up an account so that you can connect with friends.

When the site requires the user to set up an online profile, it is important that you set it up to give the professional impression that you would like to get across, and not just input your information in a whimsical manner. You must remember that you are presenting your business here, and that the other members will see your profile as an important example of the type of business you are running. Exercise caution in the type of information you include so that it will not alienate your visitors, and thereby hurt your business image in the process.

What data should you post in your profile? You must be sure to disclose enough that it will pique your visitors’ interest. A picture of yourself, along with contact information is very important – you must present your image as a real, professional person, yet not give out so much information that those that are unscrupulous can make your personal life difficult. You will have to decide for yourself how much information you are comfortable with in divulging.

Speaking of pictures, it is good to remember that even in today’s modern society, there are still those who maintain a conservative lifestyle, and so you shouldn’t post a picture to your profile that is seductive or disgusting in any way. If it turns them off, it can hurt your ability to promote your business.

So keep it professional, and be sure that your profile reflects your business and you in the best professional light.

Ideas on Finding the Right Home Business

When it comes to finding a home based business, there are a lot of choices. But not all opportunities are created equal. Some businesses are meant for the part timer, and others can become a replacement for your full time job. You must first determine which option is best for you; this will help dramatically in finding the best opportunity for you.

The first question should be: “How much money do I need to make?” Are you looking to just make a few supplemental dollars a month, or do you need to make a full time income? If you need to make a couple of extra hundred dollars, you can spend time filling out surveys, maintaining a website, or maybe offering a special service. If more income is needed, then you need to look for opportunities that will provide more money.

The second question would be: “What interests me?” You will be much more successful in a home based business for which you like or have some knowledge. So make a list of the things that fit your interests and likes and explore opportunities using that list as a guide.

When you have answered these questions, then research available opportunities to find the one that fits you best. Use search engines to find those opportunities. This will take some work; you must pursue the task with great effort as with any job the opportunity will not find you. Then you can identify the ones you will enjoy, and figure out how much money they can provide for you. Set aside a specific amount of time each day to sit at your computer and research all that is available that will fit your needs.

Until next time,

Bill

Increase Traffic Through Traffic Exchanges

A way to get traffic to your website that you may have heard of is through traffic exchanges. I must admit though, I didn’t really understand the best way to use them to bring the visitors I want to my site until very recently. I hope that the following information will help you to understand what traffic exchanges are and how you use them most effectively in getting a targeted niche to your site.

Lets begin by defining what a traffic exchange is. A traffic exchange is a website that people register with in order to get their website seen by others. Simply put, you submit your site to the exchange and then start to view other sites. As you view each site, you get credit, and as you accumulate credits you redeem them to get your site viewed by others. With luck, they will view your site, like what they see, and purchase. Sounds pretty easy, and like it would work without difficulty. However, there can be a problem with this system.

Each website must be viewed for a certain amount of time; time which can vary by exchange from ten to thirty seconds. It may at first seem to be beneficial for the site owner to keep a viewer at the site for up to thirty seconds, it is actually the reason that traffic exchanges do not work for most people. Most of the viewers are watching that timer click down, and when it expires everyone is clicking off to the next viewing page. Not many people stick around to read a 20 page sales presentation. And since they don’t remain to read the site, most people don’t get much business when their site is on a traffic exchange.

I’ve found a way to solve this problem. I have been using a small squeeze page to offer a free report to read, offering some information on how to use traffic exchanges effectively to generate traffic. Most people using traffic exchanges are marketing something on the internet and really need this information. When they download, I get their opt-in information for my list.

I have also found a way to do this that eliminates all the page building and tracking and report writing. It just boils it all down to a system that you only surf traffic exchanges one hour a day and can build a substantial home business. All the follow up and website building is done for you. All you have to do is surf. If you would like that information, click here. Be Sure to read the whole page.

Simple Ideas to Get More Website Traffic

The main desire I have for my website is huge traffic. The more traffic that comes to my site, the more income it generates. Here are some simple ways to get more views to your site.

-You might want to publish your website address in some site directories. Then your site can be seen along with other well-known sites on the internet, which can give your site more credibility, hence give it more traffic.

- Join some forums and actively join in the discussion. Many forums allow for you to use a signature that will include your contact details such as your site address or email. Givng practical useful knowledge in a forum discussion can lead traffic to your website.

- Because some people today do not have time to read long articles, create some podcasts. I know I listen to podcasts when I am out driving instead of listening to music. An informative podcast can drive traffic to your site.

- Read other people's blogs, and leave an informative comment that can inspire traffic to your site. Don't forget to include your link in the comment.

I hope you find these ideas helpful. If you some some good ideas, please leave a comment.

Until next time,

Bill

Be Successful With Free Stuff

Your first objective of offering anything for free is to get the name, address, phone number, and good email address in exchange for sending them the free object. Most people understand that when they ask for something for free, the person they order from is going to try to market something to make a profit at a later time.

If they do not give you this information, they do not deserve the free object, simple as that. You have opened your information up for them to view, and if they will not do that in return, you do not need them in your system. However, when they do divulge the information then you should treat them as if they have paid $1000 USD for your offering. You must provide them two things: value and service.

So your free object must be of value to them. It must make their life easier and or better. It must be something that will make their task at hand easier and or less expensive. Providing this value is going to do a very important thing: it is going to begin your relationship between you and your prospect.

People, including myself, like to do business with someone they know or have a link to, or someone they have had a pleasant experience with. If the clerk at the convenience store smiles or speaks to me, I will go back. If they are curt or rude, then I may go somewhere else next time. So when you talk with your prospect, make sure to make the email or phone call one that they will remember with a good feeling.

If you can provide a business person something that will help them grow their business or enrich their life, they will be a customer forever. You will become not only a friend but a trusted advisor.

There Are A Lot Of Pitfalls

Network Marketing is one of relationship selling. In order to be successful, you must meet with people and nurture a relationship that will enable you to show them the opportunity. The trouble with most network marketing businesses is that you get recruited and told to make a list of your family and friends.

And so you are set up for three things to happen. You friends and family, or warm market, will either embrace your products and opportunity, reject your products and opportunity, or run like a rabbit when they see you coming, because "here your come again with another scheme".

Let's consider the last response for a minute. After all, are all the people in your warm market looking for a business opportunity? I know that mine are not. Most of them are just fine in the jobs that they have and the lives that they are leading and do not want to look at any other opportunities. In essence, there will be a very hard task in convincing and training them, because their attitude is not conducive to building a business of their own in the first place. (This is not to say that they may not be a good retail customer).

So no wonder you failed in your warm market. You were looking to change an attitude. What you need to be successful is to find people that already have the attitude toward building a business. Your business didn't approach things that way; so you were not the failure - the business model was.

There are many other conditions that lead to success in building a network marketing organization. We will cover some in later posts. If you would like to get this information now, download a free ebook I've found called Success in 10 Steps. All you need to do is click here.

Until next time.
